Meet The Band
The Huntington
Beach based Christian Rockabilly band formed in January 2006 with just John and
Michael Ministering to the Homeless on Monday Nights while their Church would
serve the Homeless food in Santa Ana, CA. Over time and with prayer,
some new members have recently joined the group to complete the early Rockabilly
sound but with Christian Lyrics and an Evangelistic Message in every song.
All members of the band all share
the same goal of spreading the Gospel to others through their music. They
have fused old time gospel with traditional Rockabilly to create a fresh new
sound with a compelling message. The band's rewritten version of Elvis' "That's
All Right" will take you back to the early sound of 1954 but with an
Evangelistic Message to the Parents of Christians who do not believe in Jesus.
Their music is enjoyed by people of all ages due to its up tempo melodies and
easy chord patterns. Please see the Calendar Section to see where they are
playing.
RHYTHM GUITAR, LEAD VOCALS
John Nowachek
John is the primary songwriter and lead singer on the majority of the songs.
With a background of listening to different players, John's rhythm is unique.
There is a mixture of Hank Williams, Bluegrass, Buddy Holly, Doc Watson, Johnny
Cash, the Beatles and of course, Elvis Presley from the Sun Record days.
John just started playing the old Elvis Sun records in the Spring of 2005 to get
that unique rhythm sound. He was looking for a unique sound to
emulate and he just stumbled onto Elvis's old Sun records. Now he takes
the old Elvis songs and re-writes them into Christian songs that can be listened
to by the whole family and he hopes that they are pleasing to our Lord Jesus
Christ.
LEAD GUITAR, BACKUP VOCALS
Michael Mastropaolo
On the Lead Guitar, Michael can mimic the Scotty Moore who played the
Lead Guitar for Elvis in the early days on the Sun records. Michaels
musical background has a wide range of influences such as Classic Rock, Blues and the Beatles. Michael is new to Rockabilly but
is a very fast learner.
Michaels unique playing style gives every song a beautiful harmony with the
rhythm guitar. He is from Huntington Beach and his Electric
Hollow Body Ibanez gives off that same unique sound of Scotty Moore.
SNARE DRUM AND HIGH HAT
Kevin Doyle
Kevin
is from Long Beach and has a wide array of influences and brings to
the band a solid Rockabilly Beat just using a Snare Drum and a High Hat Cymbal.
Kevin plays in other Ministries as well around Orange County.
UPRIGHT DOUBLE BASS
Steve Hughes
Steve is our newest member from Huntington Beach and loves good old Rockabilly and our Johnny Cash
style of old Hymns. Steve keeps everybody grounded and on track with his
Slap Style playing of the Upright Double Bass.
